Description
Antique cotton French toile fabric circa 1820, rich brown on off white. It measures 25 inches by 15 inches. One edge is scalloped because it's previous use was part of a pelmet. The scenes are of Roman figures in flowing robes and togas. A small child is climbing onto a woman's lap. I was unable to identify the title of this toile, unfortunately. This textile was at one time part of a museum collection and a small catalog tag is still attached to one back corner. It is in very good condition with no holes or spots.
