| Antique, late 18th century, cotton toile fragment measuring 16.5 by 28 inches. This textile was a museum de-accession, and has been professionally stableized. There is also the museum's catalog reference numbers on the back on one corner. Print is brown on off white. The fragment shows a Chinese man offering a cup to another man playing an instrument. There are also pagodas, tress, flowers, and a Chinese boy climbing rocks. There is not a complete repeat in this piece. And there are holes, which have been stabilized. So condition is only fair. This is a rare opportunity to own such an early textile. |
