Antique ladies white cotton blouse from 1905. A wonderful example of combined hand work of embroidery and Irish Crochet Lace. The collar, which is about 12 inches in diameter is hand crocheted. The bust is hand embroidered in white thread with leaves and vines and petals surrounding the three Irish Crochet lace inserts. Those small flowers in the center are dimensional. The motifs are carried through the piece along the arm…each arm also has an Irish Crochet insert and embroidery, and each cuff is embellished in more crocheted lace. It opens in the back with 8 buttons, the buttonholes were hand made. The blouse, though, was constructed by machine. The sleeves are 20 inches long, and the blouse is 22 inches long from shoulder to bottom. It is in good condition, there are some spots and some small holes.
