Antique ladies white cotton chemise or corset cover from 1905.  A lovely example of combined hand work of embroidery and Tatting Lace.  The shoulders and collar are completely hand tatted.  There is a thin twill tape that is woven through the open areas along the neck line which acts as a drawstring to close the neck in the back.  The bottom edge is constructed the same way.  The bust is hand embroidered in white thread with leaves and vines.  The motifs are duplicated on the back, which besides the twill tape drawstring ties, also closes with 3 small buttons.  The buttonholes were made by hand.  The blouse, though, was constructed by machine.  It is in good condition, there are some spots and some small holes.  The corset cover is in very good condition.
