Antique quilt or summer spread from circa 1890s.  It measures 76 by 73 inches.  The pattern is a bow tie pattern done in double pink and overdyed green.  There are 196 blocks measuring 5.5 inches square.  There is a 1.5 inches double pink border.   It is hand and machine pieced.  Each bow tie is machine stitched…or quilted…by its’ green piece in a blue thread.  It is backed in a pink chambray cotton, the blue stitches showing through to the back.  There is no batting, though.  In very good condition.
