| Antique, 19th century red cotton toile baby pillow or doll mattress. The piece measures 8 inches by 9 inches, with a 1.25 inch gusset and a 1.25 inch ruffle and fringe on one edge. It looks like at one point it was stuffed, but has since fallen out. There is a split is a couple of seams. No finished edge for something like a small pillow. The toile is on the front, the sides, and the ruffle, there is a small child's profile with flowing hair, and looks like has lost a crown. You can also see flowers. The back side is off white cotton. Completely hand stitched. In fair condition because of the seam splits and missing filling. |
