Antique signature quilt dated 1849, with signatures from the Pemberton Methodist Church. It measures 93.5 by 94 inches. The signatures are inked in the center of red and blue Ohio Star blocks. There are 64 blocks that are 8,5 inches square, a 2.5 inch wide light blue sashing, and 2.5 inch square cornerstones. Fabrics are cotton. There is a thin wool batting, and the backing is a fine weave white cotton. It is hand pieced and hand quilted in diagonal lines 1 inch apart. The edge was formed by bringing the front to the back. The signatures were by members of the Pemberton Methodist Church for its deacon “Worrell”. It was passed down to his granddaughter. Condition is fair. The turkey red fabrics are starting to pop and the edge has wear. It has a dingy appearance, as well, like it needs to be cleaned, but on a quilt this old, that is not recommended. I have an appraisal with this quilt that is date 1996, so it is quite outdated and the quilt has deteriorated over the past 12 years. Please note, this is a Consigned Quilt. Coupons and Free Shipping can not be applied. Please contact me if you would like to make an offer. I will gladly forward reasonable offers to the consignor.
