Antique quilt from the Victorian Era.  The pattern is a Roman Stripe or Bar pattern.  Each bar is made of silk, solids, stripes, and plaids, and is sashed and bordered in black satin.  Along the sashing and border is gold hand embroidered feather stitches or turkey track stitches.  The backing is a commercially quilted brown silk, so you see quilting on the back, but not on the front.  Along the black sating on the back is embroidery as well.

The quilt is in very good condition.  The front only has a few shattered silks, the back is in fair condition with lots of splits, but it does not detract from this elegant quilt’s beauty.

The quilt measures about 54 inches by 64 inches.
