A Common Question:
"What does Mirror Backed (Button) mean? Is it actual mirror glass? Or possibly shiny metal?"
Thank you Lanie, for your question.

'Mirror backed' refers to the button's construction. It is usually a metal filigree style button and when you look through the filigree spaces you see another shiny 'mirror' type metal. It is not actually a glass type mirror.  Below is an example of a mirror back buttons.  This is brass, with a leafy filigree in front of the silver metal.

News:

This is usually where I write my Feature Article, but there is so much going on at Material Pleasures, I just have to share it all with you.

First, I want to wish you all a very Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year!

Next, I want to tell you about some site improvements. Material Pleasures was chosen as a beta tester for a shipping calculator to be integrated with the TIAS.com website. This gives you an idea of what your shipping cost will be before placing your order. It is still a little quirky, so please be patient. I have removed all the shipping details from each item listing, which would have had to have been done anyway, with the Postal Rate Increase.

Often, actual shipping will be less that the quote, especially on multiple item orders. Be assured, you will only be charged actual shipping, and we will ship the most economical way possible, as always.

With this integration, we are now able to incorporate a direct link to Paypal for those of you who wish to pay for your orders through that means. If you wind up overpaying on the shipping, you will be refunded the difference.

We are paying more attention to the "New" items listed in the store. Those little yellow "New" indicators on the inventory used to stay there for months…okay, sometimes years…that little indicator will now only be seen on truly new to the site items. Anything marked "New" will have been recently added, not more than a month ago. I want to thank Kim W. for her feedback on that detail!

I have several items listed on eBay this week, about 100, all ending Tuesday evening. Many discounted from my website prices. I invite you to take a look:

And finally, Material Pleasures will soon be unveiling a new website! We are very excited about this new endeavor. I will be sure to keep you updated on all the details.
