| Pair of cuffs, very intricate. Majority of the cuff is Italian Drawnwork by hand in a pretty geometric design. They are finished with scalloped Valenciennes lace trim edging (also made by hand). Insertion lace of Cluny hand made wheatears are between the two. The linen tape edging and supporting the other three edges of the cuffs was applied by machine, but the buttonholes look handmade, the buttons are missing. I am dating these to circa 1890s to 1900. They are in remarkable condition, with just one spot on each, no tears or broken bridges. |
