Fashion Plate titled "An Afternoon Musicale" from the December 1888 Peterson Magazine- Les Modes Parisiennes. Engraved and printed by Illman Brothers and hand painted by water color. It features 5 ladies in formal dress attire, obviously wearing corsets, and large bustles. Three of the ladies are wearing outer attire, two hold fur muffs. One lady has her dress trimmed in fur. Four of the ladies are wearing hats. One lady is playfully playing with a ball of yarn with a small white dog. These plates were folded inserts in Petersen's Magazines. The folds are starting to tear. It is still a very frameable piece.
