| Vintage, circa 1930s quilt in an 8 Pointed Star quilt pattern. This pattern is also called Lone Star. The quilt measures 65 inches by 75 inches. It consists of 42 blocks, set on point, each 6 inches square with 4.5 inch blue border and a 2 inch white border. The backing is a white cotton fabric. It is machine and hand pieced, hand quilted at 9 spi, with blue bias binding machine applied to the front and hand applied on the back. The condition is fair, there is fading, discolorations on the front, and the binding is irregular. Despite its flaws, this star quilt still has some twinkle left in it and would be a nostalgic accent to your home. It is very hard to date solid fabrics, which is what this quilt is entirely comprised of. To me, the pastels read from the Depression Era, but it could be later, but I also feel a few fabrics could be earlier based on the way they have faded. This is a consignment item, free shipping cannot be applied. This quilt weighs 5 pounds for shipping purposes. |
