Description
Vintage filet lace baby pillowcase measuring 11.5 by 16.5 inches. There are 3 figures in roman robes holding hands and dancing. There are three words: joci (joke), risus (laugh), and charities (grace). Online, I was able to reference these to a 17th century play by Ben Johnson about Venus and Cupid and the Three Graces and love. The back of the case is a very soft and fine cotton. There are 2 small buttons to close the opening. It is trimmed with commercial lace. In very condition, in one corner the lace is separating from the pillow.
